St Croix

St Croix

St Croix is the largest of the three United States Virgin Islands (USVI) covering 82 square miles.

The island itself is situated in the Caribbean Sea, with numerous sites and numerous activities to do on the island.

The uniqueness of St Croix are what really make it stand out and make this a relaxing and exotic resort to visit.

There are two main and distinct towns to visit whilst on holiday in St Croix, both have quiet resorts which help you to avoid the busy bustle of the usual Caribbean scene.

Perfect for a sight seeing holiday with the family or a calm and collective break for just the two, both towns fit the bill when you need some time away.

The 2 main towns of St Croix are Christiansted and Frederiksted.

Not only have both towns got their individual qualities, they both have an architectural and historically interesting quality about them, which makes them a brilliant place for sight seeing and a perfect getaway for people with historic interests,

One thing that will meet your eye once you enter the town of Christiansted is the vibrant yellow architecture. With the most historical part of Christiansted being founded in 1734, this a national historic site and a place that has to be seen.

However, this is only the start of the activities that are available to you in St Croix.

In Christiansted there are streets that are full of quaint shops where you can browse and shop the day away, there really is something for everyone, from fine china to bustling boutiques filled with French perfumes, and the finest of jewellery.

Of course Christiansted is not just full of shops.

The rural resort also boasts fine dining restaurants where you can be seated along the stunning shoreline, settling into the perfect backdrop for a romantic meal or a quick snack during the day.

This allows you to take the weight off your feet and admire the stunning views that are offered to you, the choices are simply endless.

On the other hand, if what you are looking for is a more action packed adventure you can visit Buck Island (just off Christiansted), which is widely acknowledged as one of the world’s finest diving spots for you to explore.

To start the day off you can relax on a boat trip to the island, allowing you to bask in the sunshine while taking in the sights.

Turtle beach (on Buck Island) is a beautiful beach, taking it’s name for obvious reasons.

Buck Island provides you with the chance to snorkel and dive amongst our clear blue waters.

The second of St Croixs towns also seeks to impress, holding its own distinctive style and being a complete water front town which is well worth the visit.

Frederiksted also has its own share of shops, again the range provides something for everyone, from shops for the kids to lush boutiques situated amongst sea front cafes and fine dining restaurants.

St Croix is well known for the ethnic diversity that has allowed the experimentation with a variety of different eating options, all of which work perfectly and contribute to a varied and selective choice for you to make.

Eating options range from a selection of seafoods through to a Peking style cuisine and then onto, of course, a rich and traditional choice of Caribbean food.

If you are feeling adventurous then why not try the local Creole food. Luscious foods such as nutmeg topped pumpkin soup or a Caribbean feast of coconut curried chicken may inspire you and will certainly hit the spot.

If you’ve come to St Croix for a relaxing holiday then the available resorts are perfect for providing you with the perfect environment, you can even opt for a  spa therapy to really help you unwind, the services including massages, skin care treatments, body polishes and body wraps to ease your tired and sun kissed skin.

All of this is naturally available by the beach!

So, whether your looking for a relaxing holiday or you are ready for an adventure, St Croix will provide you with everything you need to enjoy it to the full!
